Heian Jingu is a relatively new shrine mostly famous for its four gardens. This on was constructed around 1910. As far as I know the buildings are purely ornamental.
Even on an overcast day like this the carefully trimmed pine trees somehow manage to glow bright green. I wonder what they do to achieve this effect. Post processing here was limited to some sharpening and a small curve adjustment.

This is soooooo Japanese, Martin! The reflections are wonderful, as is that lovely tree island. I can't imagine how much work goes into these marvels!
Martin: In Japan presentation is everything. They spend 20 minutes wrapping up a $5 purchase to make sure it looks just right. I don't want to imagine how long it took to build this
so great Martin, very good angle !!! I would have loved to see this one with a different sky ! Japan is so beautiful !
Martin: Yes, more interesting sky would have been very nice to have. Unfortunately it is very hard to come by in Japan. Even professional pictures from these places tend to have white skies
This is so awesomely sharp Martin, absolutely beautiful. I am sure the PP sharprning could not have got it this great. Super photography buddy. Many kind regards, Neil.
Martin: Glad you approve, Neil! There are more like this coming up
