The river Rhine plays a key role in transporting goods all over Europe. This container ship is small by ocean-going standards, but it looks quite big in the inland ports or when it slides under the bridges. Conveniently, the sun was smiling on the ship and only the ship on this seriously cloudy day.

I am not easily mistaken for a Photoshop whiz, but I realized the other day that disclosing the editing steps may benefit some people. There are many people more qualified to do this than me, but perhaps someone can get some use out of a somewhat detailed description.

Editing: Unsharp Mask, some brush work to enhance the wake around the ship, addition of a multiplicative layer containing a copy of the image with lightened shadows, levels, saturation, contrast to taste.

Looks like a Donald Judd Scupture floating up the Rhine! Great balance of colours and a good choice of angle. Mike
I like this one, very nice depth and great management of lights and colors !
I like the depth on this shot and also the contrast of the boldly coloured containers with the rather muddy looking water and heavy sky. All the best, Dave.
