Simplicity

... maybe too much of it.

This colorful cable drum caught my eye driving around in College Station, TX. The colors are pretty close to what it looked like, but I punched up the various traces of writing a little.

I am going to be in Santa Barbara for the weekend and probably won't have much access to the internet. My presence here will be light until I get back on Monday. Have a good long weekend if you live in the US!

I agree with Red Pen. The detail and the colors are exquisite. I especially like the tones. Have fun in Santa Barbara, Martin. My sister used to live there, and I visited her quite often. I even lived there for one whole summer! Take lots of pictures!!!

them colours work really well together. i love the odd writing and shadow phrases in the wood - im decoding! ~S.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the thumbnail was poppies. I think it's interesting that something so far from nature would evoke it so well. Enjoy your long weekend!

Too much of simplicity? Never! As everyone has already said, this is richly colored and full of wonderful texture, Martin.

Perfectly framed with symmetry , so many shapes going on.
I love photos like this... with a subject that is some worn old forgotten something shown in a more abstract kind of way and great textures ahhh - BEAUTIFUL!
