Curves

Some might consider this shot to be a little inappropriate. I liked it for the curving elements and the light on the trash can, but this is part of the memorial for the people who were killed in the collapse of the Aggie Bonfire some years ago. I'd like to emphasize that this is not intended as any sort of statement about this accident.

I like the tones, curves and patterns. It's also interesting the way the cloud appears to emanate from the left side of the cylinder.
Martin: You are very charitable smile I almost didn't post this because the cloud lines up like that. Obviously I didn't notice it when I took the shot.
very cool photo.
i can believe how clean trash can looks.
College rivalries are taken very seriously in the U.S. It was an interesting read.

I like this photo, the composition with the curve, and the light on the trashcan.
Gorgeous shot. Stark and simple, but filled with complex elements (lines, textures, tones). I'd love to see the rest of the memorial through your lens.
Martin: Thanks for the comment, Christine! I have another shot from this memorial waiting to be posted. I only discovered it a few weeks ago, but I am sure I'll go back for another look.
quel angle magnifique tu as choisis! that's a great picture

Why inappropriate? It is an excellent picture for the curves, composition and processing. Gone to my likeys.

Never heard of Aggie or Aggie Bonfire or the tragedy before. Now I know.

Like the composition of this with the curve leading the eye round and into the picture. Nice and crisp too. I hadn't heard of this particular disaster before.

It's an appealing photo, and the trash bin is almost a piece of art. I come from a "couch burning" university town, so I understand these bad memories, although no one has died in one of our riots (and yours was not a riot, but a tragedy certainly).

Simplicity works well and I like it.
This is a cool shot - it looks like it should be a robot from an old black and white movie wink
