This image appeals to me, Martin. I believe you are quite right about the red boat, but I also like the reflections and the inky blue/black of the water.
Besides everything already said, Martin, I like the sailboats in the distance and the vanishing point of the flags with their reflections. And all that blue! It's a lovely capture!
Those flags and their reflections frame this little boat so nicely. I remember shopping the Sunday beach markets way back when in Santa Barbara, on a weekend getaway with my hubby. My god, I think it was 1983.
I agree about the importance of the red boat. Great diagonals - I like the way you get a sense of movement in 2 opposing directions - the flagpoles take you into the picture and the boat is coming at you out of the picture.
