Fortress

This may not be the cheeriest way to start posting again, but it is just about the only picture I took during my break and the older shots in the unassigned bin have been languishing in there for a reason. I did get a lot of things taken care of during my break and I am much happier with the to-do list trimmed down to a reasonable length. I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend!

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving holiday, Martin! Wonderful black and white detail (and lighting) on this one.

Pretty gloomy outlook on modern architecture, Martin. smile
This might be a rare case, when a dead center composition would work better. The texture of the conrete facade is almost palpable.

A chisel, biting deep into the top of the building...it's gotta come down, Martin.

Not sure why, but I thought of the movie "The Fountainhead" [from a book by Ayn Rand] when I saw this image
It's great to see you back... don't know what it is, but a real great texture...

Hey Martin, I'm not sure what it is either but it's a very interesting geometric shot and the black and white works!

Nice abstract, I like it, the concrete has a real gritty looking texture.
I love the textures and lighting in this one, but most of all I love the fact that I find it a bit disturbing and scary. Like a prison or dungeon, or somewhere with a really grim atmosphere. (That`s a compliment, btw.) (:o)

Welcome back, Martin! Glad to hear the break was productive for you!

This reminds me of the front grill of a monster truck, and in that regard I agree with Roz. But the B&W treatment is fabulous, just like I'd expect from you!

Since I haven't been gobblin' turkey I had a normal weekend tongue

Whatever this is, that intrusion from the top looks sexy. Excellent compositiona and processing.
Wow a very heavy atmosphere for this odd picture : I like !
The texture here is fantastic. I love these kind of b&w shots.

Welcome back, Martin. Glad you handled some of the things on your to-do-list. Does this mean I can now transfer some of mine, to yours?

The texture of the building is so detailed, I can feel it.

I've always quite liked gloom. This doesn't make me feel gloomy. I quite like it.
This makes a great abstract composition, but I'm still trying to figure out what it is. I like the textural detail.

I think this is an immensely powerful picture and one that could grace a book or CD cover. I like the graininess and the dark, dark greys.
Fabulous shot with the texture and all. Missed you.
