Prickly
What could be more West Texas than a cactus clinging to a crack in a crumbling slab on sandstone? Luckily for me the sky was lively on the day that I hiked up to this ridge. These clouds are the leading edge of a weather system that rendered Sunday damper and wetter than it has any business being this late in the year.

Ah, good to see a landscape from you! Some wonderful contrasts here. And that's a very charismatic cactus.
Charismatic cactus, indeed.
Very dynamic sky, martin.
The sky contrasts so much it almost looks like it was added. Nice one.
When I was about 10 y.o, Martin, I read every paperback western I could lay my hands on. This image does look like the country of Larry and Stretch.
Great sky Martin the only thing missing is a rattler thank god
Great picture and nice blue skies in Texas
Beautiful sky - I like the contrast between the blue of the sky and the arid brown earth.

The clouds formation is amazing here!
All it needs is John Wayne! Have you used a polariser on this Martin? I ask because I'm thinking of buying one.
This is gorgeous with the dramatic colours.
Great photo, rich in color.
Beautifully done
this resembles for me the 'west' that beautiful sky, those clouds, the stunning colors, love it.
Terrific sky. A lot of road movies are flashing before my eyes.

Quintessentially Texan, I would say. Lovely photograph. (:o)
