Seaside Flowers
Thank you for the comments on the previous post. In case any of you are still curious, I took the shot inside the Koolhaas designed public library in Seattle. The porthole looks out from a dark red corridor onto the lime green escalators. The metal work are structural parts of the building that were left exposed on purpose.
Today's image is probably a little easier to figure out. These flowers grace the shore not far from Seattle, WA. Have a wonderful weekend!

I like everything about this image Martin.
Thanks for solving the mystery from wednesdays shot.
Ooooooh. A likey. Stunning composition and tone.
It always amazes me how a shot like this does so well converted to B&W, Martin! It's magical.
Beautiful B&W, not easy to get away with doing this on such a colourful shot
Mega-heavy saturation works beautifully, Martin.
A lesson for me...thanks.
This is too dark and gloomy. I'm certain it would look better in colour. You've also lost too much detail in the shadows
Martin: Stan, thank you for the critique! Much appreciated. I certainly agree with your comment regarding the shadows, especially in the lower left, but I was too lazy to mess around with a mask to fix it. For me the essence of the shot is the contrast between the bright flowers and the dark surroundings and the b/w conversion enhances that. However, I can certainly see the appeal of leaving it in color. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
The flowers look amazing but the black is a little too dense in places. Just a touch more detail in the shadows and this would be perfect for me!
Martin: Thanks for the feedback, Bill. You are certainly correct that I was a little sloppy with the shadows!
Excellent composition on the diagonal. The wide angle gives a sweeping feeling of space and the light on the white flowers is just perfect.
Ingrid
The bright flowers are coming out nicely on this dark background. Fine shot Martin!
When all at once I saw a crowd... but daisies not daffodils. Very effective in B&W.
light work here is beautiful...
you too Martin and what a superb conversion that is
Yes, this works so well. Wonderful
this is a colorful monochrome if i ever saw one
Nice one, I like them worshipping the sun
I would normally want to see a acene such as this in colour, Martin, but the liveliness of the bright daiseys works well in this format.
very beautiful black and white photo. Thanks
Excellent conversion to accentuate the white flowers - looks like some kind of daisy.
Great location. The flowers in the foreground are beautiful.
woowww...amazing...BW with the dark rays and the beautiful clear rays.
Regards from Yogyakarta Indonesia.
