200
Today is my 200th post. I can't believe how time flies, but this is a good opportunity to thank all of you for the countless visits, comments, and suggestions. I feel that I you have taught me a lot since I first joined SC and I am happy to be a member of such a friendly community.

Looking through my archives I did not see anything worthy of a 200th post, so I decided to use this opportunity to show you one of the other things I do for fun. Needless to say, I did not take this picture because I am driving the car. You can find more of the photographer's work here.

This competition is called Autocross and is a form of sanctioned time trials (more info). Literally anyone with a car can enter these events for around $20 to $30, but it is easy to sink a lot of money into car preparation and tires. The orange cones mark the course, which is different each time. Competitors get to walk through it before they drive. Usually people get three or four attempts and whoever goes fastest in a given car class wins.

Edit
I should explain that knocking over cones that are intended to be upright adds a 2 second penalty to the run time. The cones on their sides in this picture are intended to be that way and serve navigational purposes, i.e. tell  the driver which way to go. The cone in the middle left that points at an upright cone is a good example. Some of the cones in the background may have been knocked over by another driver. It wasn't me, because I didn't hit any at this particular event. However, I have certainly caused my share of cone carnage.

Tomorrow will be back to the usual fare. I actually managed to take a few pictures this weekend .
