Lonely Light
Either I am taking a lower percentage of decent shots than I used to or I have become pickier. Either way, I am running very low on postable shots. I may be forced to skip a few days if I want to keep any powder dry. This one is in the damp powder category since there is no clear spatial separation between the treetops and the lamp.

Either I am taking a lower percentage of decent shots than I used to or I have become pickier. I have the same feeling. And ever since the D40 hit the market, I am not happy to do bird pictures anymore - which is bad.
I agree with your evaluation of the picture - the post and the tree are in the same diagonal line and spoil the composition. Fortunately there is blue.
Both of you guys are waaaaaaay too picky for my tastes, but then I'm much more of an "amateur" than you. I actually really like this shot! All of it. So just quit complaining, would you!!!
You are very hard on yourself, Martin. It's not a bad shot, just not one of your greatest! Love the colours though.

Martin, some times I wonder what the pressure to post everyday is all about. I felt that pressure too and when I began to question it, I realized it was something that I had put on myself. I slowed down my posting and actually find myself enjoying both the blogging and the photography so much more. To each their own. though. I always enjoy looking at whatever you post.
Martin: Kathryn thank you for friendly advice! You are of course correct that this is a self-imposed obligation and as such somewhat silly and easily removable. However, there is another side to this. I am afraid that without some kind of a regular schedule, work and other daily obligations will quickly consume the time that should be set aside for hobbies and other recreation. At least for me it is all to easy to push hobbies down on the priority list until I never find time for them. The daily post helps prevent that, but I have to admit that I am coming around to your point of view.
Looks nice and creepy all the same ;o)
Actually, Martin, I think this is not a common lamppost, but the rare "heavy blue sky support column", and you should regard yourself as fortunate in having such an image in your portfolio. [grin]
Martin, it is impossible to have all the time the best shots, don't be to hard on yourself, I love the blue and the composition and the POV
How was your Sunday?? I hope all went well.
Sometimes the 'so called less than perfect shot' is good to post. It allows people to comment positively with aspects that the photographer themself might not of seen or been aware of. richard
I think it is very easy to become hyper-critical of your own photographs. It my not be `perfect` by your own exacting standards, but I like it. (:o)
I like it.
I like this photo
This light doesn't look so lonely. the tree's are every where.
If I didn't post my not so good shots I'd only have posted about half a dozen. So this isn't one of your best, you know why it isn't and we all learn something too.
That's beautiful. I just love the paint on that lamp.
Beautiful!
