Taiko
This is a detail of a Taiko drum that was being used at the Japanese Festival in Houston a few weeks ago. It is one of the smallest ones they had, perhaps 10 inches in diameter. The largest ones are at least as tall as a person.

I've never seen anything like it. Your photo is exceptional.
WOW, the DOF is really superb, well done.
Great detail there sound is very interesting
Fun angle, great colors. The black background is a good choice.
Phenomenoul macro, this is a unique POV, love it, great colors, love the background colors...
Fine Macro shot Martin creating great detail. Are the red metal staps for the stand or tension on the drum??
I'm glad you said what it was as I would never have guessed. Interesting macro and use of DOF.

Lovely detail, and quite a change of scale from your recent posts! Great use of DOF.
Super pic, Martin.
Japanese are well noted for taking someone else's concept, and improving on it. I can see they have changed the Mexican taco somewhat...but, not clear to me what improvement they have achieved on an already quite decent product.
If you had asked me where you took this photo I would have no idea, and I was AT the festival! Great macro Martin.
Excellent photo! I love the taiko drums - and watching a show is pure entertainment on so many levels!
Great macro Martin. I went to a show where they used these huge drums almost as big as a house. Very impressive!
very nice isolation of detail Martin, there is a mood to the image that I like to. mal
The first time I see such a thing! Great capture Martin.
Wish I had seen the performance - they are quite breathtaking routines. Lovely red in the background sets off the detail a treat. ;o)
Lovely detail Martin
Beautiful subject!
Well done!
belle macro mais ce n'est pas poli de tirer la langue
Martin favours red?
The top part looks like a baseball that landed under a big truck I think the red provides great highlighting. Great shot. |
